Hello Peoples!
Yeah well it has been so long now. I even managed to skip all of July -- amazing. I guess unless I go back and make a fake post for July, for the entire Internet community (and no doubt for the rest of time) the records of what I got up to, and what I thought about relatively trivial tat, will never be known except by a few people who happen to find themselves interacting with me in my daily routine. The lucky buggers. :)
You know, I don't give a flying fox about sharing my life with people, and I think I made that pretty clear early on. I am certainly not currently the type to drop little links to this and that all over my homepage as though I really think anyone gives a doddle. But since for so many people, this blog and others like it are the only source of information from me, here I am justifying once more why I'm yet again cold, silent and unspeaking.
Well, not even justifying it really...
So how are you? And why the heck do you think they say communication is a two way street? :) I can't read *your* blog, now can I? Well, *cough* maybe I can in some cases. But anyhow. Let me make my point and move on. See, I'm already over it.
Yes I am okay, yes work is going fine, no I am still quite single, and yes generally everything is rolling along quite swimmingly. Not breast stroke of course, possibly back stroke -- definitely not doggy paddle.
The only issue at the moment is moving home, as my rent expires at the end of August. I plan to move closer to Guildford town centre, and am currently making plans with two colleagues from work about establishing some great 3 bedroom uber-renting experience.
In a freakish turn of coincidences, Shaun, one of the two guys from work who I am house-hunting with, is not only from New Zealand but from my own home city of Christchurch -- he even went to one of the schools I did. So I guess that will be a point of future interesting discussion!
So long, farewell, and maybe I might post again sometime before the year is through.

Five Levels Later
(This post has been transferred from my "Frimlin Games" blog, which I am now closing.)
Yup! Tryx is now 26!
I'd say it has been a long, hard, haul. But it has not been one. No, I've generally really enjoyed it so far. So no sign of me dropping City of Heroes anytime soon.
I had one level -- 24 I think it was -- where all my "Contacts" had run out of missions for me, and all I could do was "grind the streets for experience points" as they say.
But I now have the "Stamina" power (I got it at level 24), which regenerates my Endurance faster -- and it's great! It basically means I can blast out super power after super power for longer without needing to rest or take an "Endurance Inspiration" to quickly recover Endurance. No, now my Endurance just recovers faster on its own accord! Great.
At level 25 I upgraded my only "area of affect (AoE)" super power, Energy Torrent, with two new Damage enhancements. A super power can have up to 6 "enhancement slots" on it, and every other level, instead of getting a new super power, you can choose to enhance an existing power by giving it more enhancement slots -- and thus there's more room to place "enhancements" onto it. My two primary attack powers, Energy Bolt and Energy Blast both have 6 enhancement slots each on them (this is called "fully slotted"). Each has 5 Damage enhancements and one Accuracy, just in case I miss.
I have a "targeting Drone" (which I nicknamed Joan -- Joan the Drone) which improves my Accuracy a great deal, but it is something that isn't "always on". And when it is on, it drains Endurance as though it were going out of fashion. So sometimes you have to fight without the Drone switched on, so that's where my Accuracy enhancements come in. Without Joan the Drone and any Accuracy enhancements, I'd be missing a heck of a lot, and that can be fatal!
Since level 24 I've been doing a mixture of soloing (fighting alone) and duoing (fighting with one other). My duo is another Energy Blaster just like me, called Dr. Swiss -- a guy who in real life lives in Florida, apparently. Our two heroes are almost like two peas in a pod, but the differences between us is interesting. He has his Caltrops (nasty spiked things you drop on the ground to slow and frighten enemies) fully slotted -- mine only has two slots on it! Plus he has hardly any slots on his Energy Torrent. Probably a good idea -- Energy Torrent is odd in that it blasts out in a conical radius, and if you don't fire it against enemies on the same floor level as you, the effect just isn't as good.
But like me he has Flight, and lots of other powers in common. I don't think he has Hasten, but then I don't have Aim either. I'm considering "respecing" when we are able to, to drop Hasten altogether. At the moment I hardly use it, and since it is the only power in the Speed pool that I have, if I dropped it, I could pick up a whole extra power pool instead. But we'll see.
Since 25 I've been doing a lot of indoor missions -- my favourites of which have included the "Oranbega" story arc, the WWII one and rescuing Dr. Archos. I have had way too many missions against Sky Raiders recently -- I'm getting sick of taking out the Engineers first just to stop them dropping their force field generators. But I have a feeling any moment now I'm going to run out of indoor missions, and I'll have to "grind the streets for experience" again. Darnit.
Now I'm 26 I got the choice of a new super power. I could have chosen quite a few -- notably Explosive Blast, Aim and Cloaking Device to name but a few. I took Cloaking Device. It fits in with Tryx's gadgetry prowess nicely -- a full body LCD screen which makes you seem almost invisible (they have such things in real life now). I can sneak right past baddies without them noticing! Also, if I attack whilst wearing it, I get a defensive bonus. So that combined with my Smoke Grenade, which gives the baddies a hit on Accuracy, means that I can be quite a well defended little surgical implement. But Cloaking Device sucks Endurance, so with that and the targeting Drone on, I can run out quite quickly -- even with Stamina!
Anyhow, the game and level 27 calls me! At 27 I think I might be improving my Stamina super power with two new enhancement slots so I can get Endurance back even faster.
