I so want Voyager on DVD
This arouses me.
Ooer! No, it doesn't really. But I so want Star Trek Voyager on DVD, it isn't funny.
It even has an interview with the fabulous Kate Mulgrew (Captain Kathryn Janeway). Cooool. If only I was straight (and she was single, and interested, and money grew on trees).
And hey, they say it's released on the 24th of February (in the US at least)... so that's just one day before my birthday -- sweet!

My First Friday Five
In an effort to put something semi interesting on my blog, here's my first Friday Five for Friday the 21st of November.
1. List five things you'd like to accomplish by the end of the year.- To be once again almost back above zero again in my bank account.
- To have posted at least one Christmas card (highly unlikely, though.)
- To see some of my friends around the UK before yet another year goes by.
- To actually do *some* writing. Even just one sentance would be nice.
- And finally, to spend my first Christmas with my mother for a long, long time.
2. List five people you've lost contact with that you'd like to hear from again.- Daniel Pashley (Eurodan).
- My sister, Emma.
- My birthmother's father, Bruce Nicol.
- My ex-babysitter, Jacqueline Smith.
- My birth-cousin, Michael Williams, who I really should talk to more (sorry Mike!)
3. List five things you'd like to learn how to do.- Motivate myself to write.
- Keep my home tidier.
- Actually leave the house in the weekend.
- Learn how to speak Portuguese and Dutch.
- Turn off the part of me that seems to think I need to find a partner.
4. List five things you'd do if you won the lottery (no limit).- Buy my Mum a really lovely house and car.
- Send my sister and her husband on an extravagant honeymoon, which would include a visit to the UK for sure.
- Set up my own games development team and work on one of the many games ideas I think of but never do anything about.
- Think carefully about someone I know who'd really benefit from some cash, and then just give them a whole wad.
- Find the nearest sunny beach and spend as much time on it as I possibly can.
5. List five things you do that help you relax. - Play Civilization 3.
- Watch a good film on DVD.
- Listen to my favourite music.
- Think about what most concerns me until I stop worrying about it.
- Chill out by smoking something that's increasingly less illegal over here...

I'm water, you're...?
Apparently I'm water, which is great, because it's my favourite tipple. How sad is that? ;)
Thanks to Lisa @ Burnt Toast for the link.
"You are water. You're not really organic; you're neither acidic nor basic, yet you're an acid and a base at the same time. You're strong willed and opinionated, but relaxed and ready to flow. So while you often seem worthless, without you, everything would just not work. People should definitely drink more of you every day."

Oops! Why I ever chose to run more than one blog, I'll never know... (this post will only make sense to members of my Yahoo group, since the offending post has now been moved to Sciotecha).

New photo in the corner...
What do you think of my new photo? It was taken by my friend Patrick during our recent holiday to Lisbon, Portugal. Thought it was time I updated the "photo in the corner of my blog." :-)

Oops!
Looks like I posted to here rather than Sciotecha. But worry not, I have now removed the offending article. OH and... by the way... if you've gone to see the website for The Movies and got confused because there was only an image showing a list of wants... click on the image. That's it. Just click on it. Then you'll get to the real site. If you think it through, the general rule of thumb when confused and not online is to hit something till it works. ;) Conversely, when confused online simply click something till it works. Or until you break your mouse.

Same old
Same old routine. Just another day, nothing particularly interesting to report. No really. Really. I've got nothing to say. I've been playing Galactic Civilizations on and off for the last week or so. Quite a good game. I'm a big fan of the turn-based strategy type. This one is like playing Civilization, but in space.
The graphics aren't all that much, but it's very functional, and not to mention enjoyable. But I long for the day when games developers take turn-based strategy game graphics a bit more seriously. They don't have to be half as simple looking as so many games, including Civilization, make them appear to be.
Tonight I'm going to my friend and colleague Nick Dry's house, to have dinner with him and his partner, Esther. I'm bringing along a bottle of red, and some dark chocolate, so no doubt we're going to get mashed. Should be fun! And it'll be good to do something social in the evenings for a change. All this work and no play makes Frimlin a dull Wizard, as you know from how I've started introducing my blog posts...
Nah, yet again I really did sit down and think I had nothing to say. I like this "speaking when there's no need" thing -- makes me say quite a lot!
Everything at work is going well. I think you've all got that impression from my recent posts, anyhow. But yeah, the game is looking really good, and we're having a lot of fun play-testing it by creating movies and exporting them out as .avi movie files. I find it fun just choosing what costumes they wear in each scene! And that's only a part of it. It's going to be great! So now I just need to spend a bit of energy towards Ash. Ash needs some attention too, you know! It's not so easy being a reclusive wizardly character. It's definitely not all it's cracked up to be.
You start to become convinced being alone is the way it is, and will always be. And that's not healthy for a lad of 26. The only rutting I ever do is in the privacy of my own personal space. Bah.
You'd think it got to me, but mostly it doesn't. Mostly I'm just fine as I am. But the idea of this continuing ad infinitum just doesn't sit snugly on my conscience. Some part of me is chomping at the bit, unrelenting, but held back by some other part of me that thinks it knows best.
Ho hum. So much for nothing to say.
