Heya! Another week goes by without much of an update to my personal blog -- like I care?!

Last weekend I was back in Beckenham with Nigel. On Saturday Nigel suggested we spend the weekend in Brighton and meet up with Morwenna, his ex-girlfriend of seven years. Unfortunately she couldn't make it, but Nigel and I still went down to Brighton -- which was an unplanned but welcome break away from unwelcoming Beckenham.

We didn't have any accommodation booked -- so Nigel spent ages walking around Brighton and Hove trying to find a place to stay for the night. Unfortunately all the hotels were booked up, so we had to spend the night in a manger. Kidding! I texted my friend Chris who lives down there, and he very kindly allowed us to spend the night on the floor of his spare room -- well, after he'd taken us out to see one of the local gay bars down there! :-)

Unfortunately the warm and sunny weather on the Saturday didn't last till Sunday -- it rained pretty much all day. Luckily we managed to find a decent pub -- "The Victory" -- for a hearty pub lunch. I had a delicious plate of sausages & mash, Nigel had mussels -- ewww! Somehow -- and I can't put all the blame on Kronenberg -- we managed to spend quite a few hours at said pub. We were there so long that Sunday, we've already given the pub the dubious honourific of "the Pickerel of Brighton."

Somehow managed to navigate back to the train station, and took an eight-something train back to East Croydon station. But we both fell asleep on the train, and ended up at London Blackfriars! Oops! Didn't get back to Beckenham till much later. Oh well -- the weekend was definitely worth it!

This week has been really good so far -- great, even. I'm really enjoying my new job, and I'm so glad that it turned out well in the end. And there I was worrying about things, beforehand. I'm not saying it's not good to worry -- it helps to prepare you for different eventualities -- just it is bad to get down about things that concern you. Worrying doesn't have to have an emotional impact -- but invariably it does, and we can't always help but experience it.

I've now got my key for my new home, and I'm moving in this weekend with the help of Nigel and a hired van. All I need to do now is relocate the wasteland that is all my belongings, which are strewn in varying degrees of order on the floor of Nigel's spare bedroom. It's going to be hell, but it has to be done -- and once it is, it won't need to be done again for quite some time. Unfortunately there isn't much parking space outside Nigel's place, and so I'll have to parade most of my belongings to the public as I put them in the van. Luckily the people around Beckenham don't seem to be very interested in my activities -- well aside from the fact that a few weeks ago I was spat upon by some old man on the street! Nice.

If only I could fast forward to Sunday evening, when -- hopefully -- I'll be settled with all my belongings in my new home.
