Feeling really good this morning. I've actually had a really good week. There are some reasons for this, but I won't go into any detail as yet. No, sadly, it's not a boyfriend or anything like that. As if. We all know I'm fated to be single forever more! Pity me! heheheh ;-)

Just got back! Had a great night! We didn't win... yet again! And this time we sadly didn't win the best team name prize either. BUT we DID get 3rd! Yehaa!!
I am sure Vicky won't disagree -- this was due to Dave and Charlie (who joined us at the last minute) they seemed to know everything we didn't know! Now we've just got to convince them to come along with us next time, rather than creating a competing group! Charlie also won Bingo too -- and got two bottles of wine. But then, she did have five tickets -- I only had one, and so did Vicky. And we were both just about to win too. Oh well, the best being won ;-)

Mmmm the Mossala was delicious -- exactly what I wanted! I arrived at the same time as Nigel, and I was surprised to find Angela there -- she's an Australian friend of mine. And Richard was there too, scribbling away on some paper. Had a few conversations about the gas deaths in Russia, the sinking of the Kursk, and other stuff too.
I think tonight I will be watching a DVD called Romy and Michele's High School Reunion which my dear friend Vicky has lent to me. It's got Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe from F.R.I.E.N.D.S), so it's probably going to be quite a laugh -- she's pretty whacky! :-) Yes, the film has two stunning blondes in it. No, unfortunately, they aren't male...

Last night I went to the Pickerel to meet up with Nigel, and soon we were joined by Charlie and Dave. We had a great night actually -- deeply engrossed in debates about nature and nurture in regards to sexuality and other interesting topics. I think I was born gay -- I think it possibly has something to do with brain wiring and may be genetically based. I'm not really sure, but I think I may have inherited this from my birthmother's side of the family. I don't know fully why I think that, so let's just leave it to intuition.
I had the strangest dreams last night. In one of them, I was in a plane crash and I died. I was sitting on the left side of the plane, and the wing came off -- or at least, it broke as we impacted the ground. Either way, I was soon dead and found myself surrounded by blackness -- and the noise of people walking around me. Soon light seemed to come from out of nowhere, and I was in some kind of afterlife. My strongest thought was how upset my Mum would be, and that I would try hard to come back and find her. I have no idea how I would accomplish that, but it was a dream after all!
The other weird dream was a typical Ash one. Every now and then I dream of losing loads of my teeth, all in one go. I am sure there is some symbolism behind it, but in this case I think it was triggered by the recent loss of a tiny filling. In my dream, I felt that one of my teeth was loose -- so I reached in and it just came out, and then another one did, and another, and another.. soon I had at least ten full teeth in my hands! And then I seemed to be pulling out bits of gum and jaw -- it was very disturbing! I think I'll do a search on Google and see if I can find some kind of symbolic meaning. This isn't something I usually do -- I'm just pretty determined to find out why I have these losing-my-teeth nightmares! There are things that come to mind already as to possible meanings, but I'll do a bit of research before I start babbling about them here.
I'm looking forward to having Chicken Tikka Mosalla at the Pickerel for lunch today -- I haven't had it in at least a week! *shock horror* :-) Looks like tomorrow we'll be going to the Pub Quiz at the Fleur de Lys, which should be great. You never know, I might see a certain sexy guy that I *almost* talked to at Dot Cottons on Saturday night! I wish...

Okay, let's just say I temporarily lost all interest in updating my blog. It's typical of me though, I start something with great gusto, but then it peters out to nothing. I think that's cool though -- having the ability to start something great with enthusiasm. But unless you're working along with someone else that is better at continuing things someone else has already started, then you're buggered. Ooer missus!
Here's a very brief synopsis of what you've missed out on. Mostly it's just weekend stuff -- I haven't done anything particularly interesting over the last few weeks, trust me!
Weekend of 26th and 27th:
Friday night I spent at the Pickerel with Charlie, Dave, Virginie, Tom, Janine and later Nigel. Went with Virginie and her boyfriend Matt to an Indian restaurant, but I wasn't very hungry so had to leave half of my meal behind! I absolutely detest wasting food -- it's a crime of the developed world. We're so used to excess, we've developed a blindness to wasting it. Anyhow, let me digress -- this is a only a synopsis afterall.
Saturday daytime I just mucked around home. Mostly I spent time working on my scenario for Civilization 3. I've come a long way with it recently. I've enhanced the scenario quite a lot -- including new names for many of the civilizations. Just for reference, the scenario is based in the British Isles, Ireland and the North Sea. It's ficticious, but loosely based on the pre-Norman era. There are nine tribes in the scenario: the Angles, Saxons, Romano British, Caledonian Picts, Dalriadan Scots, Nordmen (Vikings / Normans), Milesian Gaels, Gwynedd Cymru and the Kernow Cornish. Some of the names are still being revised, but they're all inspired by actual kingdoms and peoples from pre-Norman history.
Saturday evening Claire and Annabel dropped by and we went to The Junction to get tickets for Dot Cotton Club -- a once monthly LGB rave. We then went into town and joined Nigel, Tom, Janine and Janine's Dad Ingolf at Bar Quay on Quayside, just next to the Creature Labs office. After drinks and an embarrasing defeat at pool, we went off to the Fleur de Lys gay pub. We were soon joined by Charlie and Dave, and also some friends and neighbours of Claire and Annabel.
After further drinks and merriment we took a taxi to Dot Cottons. It was their 11th birthday, and the actual Dot Cotton from Eastenders was there to help everyone celebrate. I have absolutely no idea why they'd name a night out after a soap star. Once I got there, I had only one drink -- I was trying to avoid getting so drunk I forget what I'm saying or doing! And it worked out very well, too! I had a great night just dancing and socialising. I saw ex-CLabs staff member Graeme Williams there, seems everything is well for him, which is good to hear. Also, there were some VERY stunning young men there -- think I'll be making more of an effort to go back to Dots next month! Muahaha! :-)
Woke up with only a minor hangover on Sunday morning, and spent pretty much all day on my computer with my Civilization 3 scenario whilst watching repeats of Star Trek Voyager on TV. Also did the usual domestic things like tidying my room and doing the washing -- my freshly clean clothes dried fast in the strong gales we were experiencing that day. Pity seven people were killed by those same strong winds. :-(
Weekend of 19th and 20th:
Friday night was at the Pickerel with the usual suspects, then onwards for a delicious Indian meal. Not sure of all the details of this night, so sue me.
Saturday I took the train down to London to meet up with my online friend Michael, an American guy who has just moved to the UK from Poland. I've been talking to him for a few months through OUTintheUK and so it was good to meet him in real life -- he seems a nice enough guy. I was rather swamped by his friends though, but they were pretty cool so it wasn't much of a problem. We all took a walk in Greenwich Park, which was lovely. There was a very clear view of London from St.Pauls all the way to the Docklands business area. I left mid-evening to avoid the dreaded feeling of waking at someone else's place, but I left with the promise of coming down again in the future... or so I thought! ;)
Sunday I spent mostly mucking around at home. Later on that week I phoned Michael, and also sent an email, but he's not replied or made any attempt to contact. Hard not to think bad of it. But suffice to say, it is definitely rude not to at least say something after meeting a friend in real life for the first time. Ho hum! I may say more later about this, or I may just forget it all completely -- sometimes that's the best thing to do..
Weekend of 12th and 13th:
Completely forgetting my friend Xen's engagement (?) party, I instead went with Annabel and Claire to my friend Jimmy's house-warming party in Stockton Heath, which is near Warrington and Manchester. Annabel and I drove up on Friday night and spent the night with Claire at her flat in Keele University, which is where she lives and lectures at during the week.
Saturday daytime I walked down Canal Street in Manchester for the first time -- it's a well known street, lined with a whole load of gay pubs and bars. Also took my first look around Manchester, which was cool. Doesn't seem so bad.
Saturday night was the party at Jimmy's house. It's quite a nice place, and he's living there with his friend Dan. It seems Jimmy got the raw deal though, and he's got a smaller bedroom -- yet he pays the same price, apparently! The party was great, and I met a whole lot of Jimmy and Dan's friends.
Sunday was mostly recovery, and then Claire, Annabel and myself all drove back down to Cambridge on the M6. It took ages!
Well, that's about it for my synopsis! I'll try to keep updating regularly again from now on, but you never know, I may just forget all about it... ;)

Hey! I'm much better now! :-) I got better yesterday afternoon, then I got really tired and crashed out for the evening. I was up out of bed at 8am -- I even rushed upstairs to get to the shower early. But unfortunately Sarah was in there and the bathroom was busy so I had to suffice with a dry shave in front of the mirror in my bedroom. Now, in case you didn't know it -- dry shaving is not a good idea! Especially after a weekend of hair growth. Ouch! But hey, I'm a man -- I can take it... aww poor ickle me! ;-)
I've heard from my Mum (Hello Mum!) which was great. She's reminded me not to worry about what I say on here, because she's broad minded. Thanks for being you, Mum! :-) Also, my friend Jimmy says he's been reading my blog (Hi Jimmy!) Quite a busy little place now! Anybody else want to fess up and tell me you're reading this? ;-)
Okay so I did promise that I would make a proper template (read: design & layout) for this blog -- and I have now got some definite plans. The first one will be to change this to use the current design of my personal site. When I do this, I'll change the URL of this blog to the same one as my personal site. Don't worry, you won't need to change links. I'll make it redirect from here to it's new home.
I have finally decided to sort out a new mobile phone. I've registered with the Vodafone website, and have already changed my mobile price plan to a cheaper one. Now all I need to do is choose a phone, and order it! At the moment it's either a Nokia 3330, 3410 or 5210. My current one is an ageing 6150. I'll keep you posted on my decision!
On Wednesday my friend Michael will be leaving Poland and moving to London -- hopefully I'll be meeting up with him soon after he arrives. This Saturday is Jimmy's house warming. I'm probably going up with Annabel for the evening. Should be a great night -- it's always good to see Jimmy again!

Had a great night last night at the Pub Quiz :-) We didn't win, but I won a line at bingo and got a bottle of red wine for it. And there's a prize for the best team name, and we got that too -- another bottle of red wine! What was our team name? We aimed to be topical yet with a sexual slant: Major-ly screwed up Currie. Now, if you know nothing of John Major and Edwina Currie's little fling, or of Indian meals, then this may mean absolutely nothing to you! ;-)

It's a shame we never talked much after we first met, back in 1999. I feel like so much time has been wasted!
Vicky is *still* trying to decide what to wear tonight. Women! Okay, so I admit I did bring in a spare top -- just in case I felt like changing at the last moment. But this is a very rare thing for me! It's only because I want to look good for the pretty much only time I'm ever spotted on the local scene! :-) There was another reason too, but I won't mention it.
